The term Harajuku has become popular use via Gwen Stefani’s music videos and songs from her Love.Angel.Music.Baby (LAMB) album.

When we talk about Harajuku, we talk about a district in Japan, Tokyo.

Harajuku Girls

Harajuku Girls are women and teenaged girls in Harajuku wearing a style of clothing that originated in the street culture of major Japanese cities like Tokyo and Osaka.

The Harajuku style named after this Harajuku district of Tokyo, combines a wide range of diverse influences. There are many fashion styles, and many different groups who spend time in this area.

Typical Harajuku clothes are:

  • Gothic Lolita,
  • Decora,
  • Kogal,
  • Ganguro,
  • Wamono,
  • Second-Hand Fashion and
  • Cyber Fashion.
